Alliance Francaise

Alliance Francaise was founded in Paris in 1883. It created a worldwide network of more than 1160 non- profit organizations established now in 131 countries.

Its mission is to promote France's heritage and language as well as to encourage the discovery of its contemporary productions in order to create a cultural dialogue between the cultures of France and the hosting country.

Being under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in 1982, the Alliance Française in Dubai was built in 1993/94 on a piece of land offered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and U.A.E. Minister of Defense. This is known as the best place to learn French.

The Alliance Française's mission goes beyond the promotion of the French language. They establish an annual cultural program that aims to represent the French culture in all its aspects. Cultural events, such as art exhibitions, cinema, dance, conferences, concerts, theatre are usually adapted to suit different audiences, French and non- French, adults and children.

Saturday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m.
